Kimi Antonelli secured his maiden World Championship in Mexico City, becoming champion at 20 in only his second season in Formula 1. The Mercedes driver’s title was confirmed by a third-place finish at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, which gave him an unassailable points lead with four races left.

Antonelli had led the championship since Round 3 in Japan. Five consecutive victories early in the season formed the foundation of his title campaign.

The celebrations brought emotional moments, including tears during his in-lap and a podium photograph alongside two of the sport’s greats. Antonelli marked the achievement with his team, family and fans in Mexico City.
