Kimi Antonelli’s 2026 Formula 1 championship campaign brought a record-breaking title and, according to F1 TV analyst and former Renault driver Jolyon Palmer, a wide-ranging display of skill. Antonelli became the youngest world champion in the sport’s history and clinched the championship with four races remaining.
Palmer said Antonelli never appeared overawed during the season. Even on his most difficult days, the 20-year-old remained a threat for the podium, he noted.
One of the moments Palmer singled out was Antonelli celebrating on the podium at Monza after becoming Italy’s first home winner in 60 years. Palmer described that scene, set against a loud home crowd, as one of two images that would capture the season.
